National onesie day – Autism Awareness Week

On Wednesday 29th March the team at EAP, (who weren’t out on site) dressed up for National onesie Day as a fundraiser for World Autism Awareness Week 27th March – 2nd April 2017.

We kindly asked for sponsorship to help raise money and awareness so that as many people as possible learn about Autism.

Here are a few facts from the Autism website about Autism but for more information or to find out how you can help visit

Only 16% of autistic adults are in full-time paid employment, and in almost a decade the situation hasn’t improved. All too often, employers don’t see ability. They see autism. They see a problem.

Around 700,000 people in the UK are on the autism spectrum. Together with their families, this means autism is a part of daily life for 2.8 million people.

Please feel free to have a laugh at our expense but please if you are able to donate anything then it would be much appreciated towards this worthy cause.

BBC Radio 1’s LOLathon…

On Wednesday 15th March Chris Stark and Scott Mills hosted a 24 hour LOLathon broadcast on BBC Radio 1 for Comic Relief / Red Nose Day. All of us at EAP donated by texting LOL to 70703 which will help to change the lives of people at home in the UK and in Africa.

For 24 hours after a song was played, Chris and Scott had to tell 5 jokes, with guests intermittently popping into the studio to help out.

We at EAP Property Services also did our bit and donated which was kindly commented on by Chris Stark himself…..

Keep an eye out for future news and see what else we get up to this year…

An Architects vision……

Architecture: “the art or practice of designing and constructing buildings”…. Is this all?

This definition for Architecture is as short as unfinished since behind these words there is a world of Theory, History, Technology, Calculations, Research and Dreams.

Where people see a room in a plan, an architect see’s one space created by textures, colours and lights which satisfies any use.

I am sure that if you have visited a museum, theatre or house and the building impressed you, even though you are not looking for it, the Architecture is working properly.

When you want to build your own home and you want to build your dreams, if you pay attention to your architect, you will find many interesting options which can improve your design, options that you may not have thought about before.

My starting point of every project is based in the expression “less is more” of Mies Van der Rohe. This architect worked approximately between 1900 and 1960. His expression determined the architectural aesthetics of the Contemporary Architecture and defines very well the definition of “Minimalism”.

Less is more, Contemporary Architecture, year 1900… ..this statement by an Architect as far back as the 1900’s… this still the case with today’s Architecture?

To see an example of all of this, I urge you to see the picture below of the “Waterfall House” of Frank Lloyd Wright, try to guess the year of building and compare it with any house of a modern architectural magazine.  Have you found any similarities?
